Testing Procedure

Actual Test Time: 3-5 Hours
Suggested Study Time: 3-5 Months

Test #1 (approx. 60 minutes, 40% of grade): You will be asked to perform 10 dance steps from each level.  You will first have to count out each step and then perform it to music. This is an open book test but you will be given up to :30 seconds to look at each move before performing it.  You should be extremely proficient in reading the Hip Hop Instruction Curriculum and know where to quickly find each dance step.

Test #2 (approx. 30 minutes, 25% of grade): You will put together 5 dances using the Hip Hop Instruction Curriculum ONLY (one from each level) of 6-eight counts each.  You will count out each dance and then perform it to appropriate music that you have pre-selected.

Test #3 (approx. 30 minutes, 25% of grade): You will put together 5 dances from your own choreography (one from each level) of 6-eight counts each.  You will count out each dance and then perform it to appropriate music that you have pre-selected.

Test #4 (approx. 45 minutes, 10% of grade): You will take a 50-question multiple choice test that will measure your ability to assess different situations during a hip hop dance class. All this information is available in the Hip Hop Instruction: Official Teacher's Manual.

IF YOU PASS: You will be a Certified Hip Hop Instructor and...
1) Given a Completion Certificate
2) Added to our online database
3) Given a Hip Hop Instruction Hat
4) On our list for teaching across the country when we get calls.  Let’s face it we can’t always be in every city at once so we sometimes use our certified instructors to teach & do choreography all across the country.
5) Allowed to use us as a reference when applying for teaching jobs, we will gladly talk you up!
